How does the doctor keep up to date on all of the current techniques
and materials?
Dr. Splane has participated in a number of continuing education programs
on a variety of topics. Currently, he is in a mini-residency program
on craniofacial pain at the University of Florida. Dr. Splane also
continues to invest in the excellence of his staff by fully funding
any of their educational interests. Dr. Splane collaborates with oral
surgeons, orthodontists and periodontists to ensure that patients receive
the finest care available.

Do you accept my insurance plan?
In today's insurance market, many patients have lost the ability to
choose their own dentist! While Dr. Splane is not on any specific
provider lists, he serves many patients as an "out-of-network" dentist.
Since typical out-of-pocket costs are often quite low, many of our
patients have opted out of their networks to come see Dr. Splane.
Our staff will gladly assist you in determining your coverage.

What do I do if I have an emergency and the office is closed?
We provide access to emergency care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
In the event of an emergency, you will get Dr. Splane's cell phone.
If Dr. Splane is out of town, his beeper automatically forwards to
a staff member who can help you. If you should need the care of an
outside specialist, that staff member will make all of the arrangements
for you with that office.

I really do not like visiting the dentist. Is there anything you can
do to help me relax?
Dr. Splane finds that people relax more when they are told what is
going on during a procedure. By gently talking patients "through
a procedure," there are no surprises and patients feel more
in control. Our staff members were chosen for their expertise,
compassionate hearts and the fact that they contribute greatly
to the ease our patients feel.
This is not to say that we don't
have tangible relaxation tools. We offer everything from relaxing
music and warm blankets to local anesthesia, oral sedation and
nitrous oxide.
The bottom line is that we will do everything possible
to make you feel relaxed and comfortable.

Crowns, veneers, onlays, inlays and partials. Where can I learn more

Dr. Splane is available to answer any and all of your questions. Our
staff is also well-versed in the benefits and details about these procedures.

Do I have to floss every day? Is it really that important?
There is an old saying that "you only have to floss the teeth
you want to keep." The bottom line is that flossing helps remove
the food particles and plaque build-up that your toothbrush can't.
This removal then helps to reduce the bacteria that cause tooth decay
and gum disease.
